Curriculum

Crescenzo D'Onofrio born in Italy(1950).

He achieves the degree in Medicine and Surgery at Rome State University(1979)and the post-graduation in Plastic Surgery at Catania University(1988).

Soon after the degree D'Onofrio starts his training in plastic surgery at S.Eugenio Research Institute, Plastic Surgery DPT, Rome,(1980);from Nov.1980 to Nov.1981 at Surgical Pathology DPT – Rome State University; then at "Bambino Gesu'" Research Institute, Plastic Surgery DPT(1982-86).
After one year spent at S.Gallicano Research Institute(1987)he starts the private activity in Cosmetic & Reconstructive Surgery at Paideia Hospital, Rome(1989-1999), with travel intervals in Europe and to Brazil, for techniques comparison.

D’Onofrio’s first experience in African countries (July-August 1999) is in Mozambique-Alua Comboni Mission, where he perform many surgical procedures on congenital and secondary deformities. Coming back to Italy from his short but intense experience is committed in the Founders Board promoting in Rome the “Economia Alternativa” Association, for health projects in southern countries.

The year 2000 D'Onofrio is appointed by the Italian Foreign Office-International Cooperation, as Plastic Surgeon Project Coordinator, to bring surgical specialized assistance to the women disfigured by sulphuric acid in Bangladesh and for training of local surgeons.

The 2001-2002 D'Onofrio is appointed by UN-UNICEF-International Medical Corps, as Cosmetic & Reconstructive Surgeon in charge to remove the "children combat" war tattoos in Sierra Leon and for training of local surgeons.

The 2004,after an international advertise, is appointed as Senior Lecturer at Aga Khan University-Hospital, Nairobi, in charge for Cosmetic & Reconstructive Surgery.

The 2006 he sets up the Cosmetic & Reconstructive Surgery Centre at Karen Hospital, Nairobi, with international clientele.
Numerous the scientific pubblications and lectures in International Congresses about Cosmetic & Reconstructive Surgery.
